What is PIRC?
The Penn International Relations Conference (PIRC) is a comprehensive program that seeks to instill a genuine intrigue in international affairs and politics in high school students. The conference is completely free of charge. This year's theme is "Politics and Development in Modern Latin America" For more information, see our “About” page and our agenda.
Who will be speaking?
The agenda of the conference will be announced in Fall 2013. Please come back later.
Is it free?
Registration for PIRC is free to all. We will provide breakfast and lunch on both Friday and Saturday for all attendees.

How/when can I register?
Registration is currently closed. Please return in Fall 2013 to register for PIRC 2014.

What is the role of teachers/chaperones at the conference?
Teachers and chaperones are welcome to attend all group presentations, including speaker sessions and crisis simulations. You are also welcome to join us for all meals, which will be provided by PIRC.

How is PIRC 2014 different from a Model UN conference?
The Penn International Relations Conference does not assume any prior knowledge of the United Nations or parliamentary procedure. We welcome students with all backgrounds in international relations, from the absolute beginners to the experts. Additionally, we focus a large part of the conference on dynamic speakers and a panel of students who will share their own experiences related to the topic at hand.

What preparation should attendees do before arriving?
We aim to teach students about modern Latin America and its institutions. We do not assume prior knowledge, though of course, we encourage participants to learn as much about current affairs, international relations, or Latin America as they would like.

How do I benefit from participating in PIRC?
PIRC is a free conference that aims to enrich students and chaperones alike by providing knowledge about Latin America through speakers and multimedia presentations. It will also reinforce the concepts of international relations and politics through interactive crisis simulations.
